Pianist Vjacheslav Novikov was born in Ukraine, studied in Kiova’s conservatory by Vsevolod Toplin, as a legendary pianist and pedagogist Heinrich Heingaus’ student. During years 1974-1990 he was Kiova’s philharmonic orchestra’s solist. Since 1989 he has lived in Finland.
After his first solo concert in Helsinki in 1989, well-known Finnish music critic Seppo Heikinheimo wrote in Helsingin Sanomat -newspaper: “Novikov belongs to thoughtful pianists’ elite“.
Novikov was so talent that he was offered two teacher positions in Sibelius academy in Helsinki and even Finnish nationality.
In 1998 when Novikov had performed Schubert’s three last sonatas in Tallinn, Estonia’s music and theater academy’s professor Lilian Semper informed in Eesti Paevleht newspaper: “Today the hall was mastered by spirit of the genious“.
Vjacheslav Novikov performs solo concerts and chamber music concerts in Europe, Japan, Brazil, Turkey, Russia and Ukraine.
The pianist’s name shows up regularly in respected music festival’s programs and in some Finnish orchestra’s concert posters. Novikov belongs to world-known exponents of Frans Schubert’s music.
